Lost Everything....My Home is Gone

Last Saturday night we had a house fire. We lost everything :(.

We are slowly getting a few things out that are salvageable. But for the most part everything is gone :*(

Today we did find my wedding box. A bit burnt but the contents are untouched. Not wet or smell! I am so excited!!

Preparing for Hurricane Sandy

Every clean container is being filled with water. Either to drink or use for the toilets.  Took catalog of our canned goods.  Bought flashlights, batteries, and candles.  Gassed up the generator.  It's not a big generator but it will run the fridge and freezer.  Just a bit worried about heating as we bought a pellet stove.

Put away all the toys and lawn goodies today.  Charging phones and cameras.  Not sure when I will be online again.  I do have my phone but I am sure there will be cell tower issues.  This is the latest advisory as of 2:15 am.

Advisory is in!
The hurricane is right on track as predicted. Pressure is still the same. 75 mph winds. This is the beginning of it's approach towards landfall. This storm has not turned out towards the sea. Weather channel is very confident in this forecast. Winds will pick up to 80 mph tomorrow. If you have not made preparations you may have a few hours tomorrow morning to make them. They are se
eing a lot of thunderstorm activity. The eye wall is a bit ragged but there are thunderstorms on the right side. It is going over warm water of about 80 degrees so it is able to still sustain itself. The tropical moisture is moving in which means high rain. The new determination of rainfall is 12+ inches of rain locally. The concern is the prolonging effect of the storm as it basically strolls through the Northeastern PA region. While it is close to us we will experience 40-50 mph winds steadily with gusts up to 75+ mph which increased since our last update. This storm is going to be a more damaging storm than Irene as stated by the Weather channel.

We are about 20 miles south of Williamsport. Which means the eye will pass right over us :(
